See attached photos for a measured frequency response of 20-20KHz +/- 1dB identical from -10 to 0dBV output, ~24WRMS per channel power output before clipping, and close to 30dB better than the 0.5% specifications for THD+N at ~ -73dB.
This is no coincidence. This unit has been meticulously rebuilt to exceed its factory performance using top quality modern parts and a few modifications to improve on known problem areas in the original design. See attached photos of the rebuild process.

The receiver will be carefully packed in an over-sized box and well protected for safe shipping. We have a lot of experience shipping delicate electronic items.

We will warrant the receiver for US buyers to be fully operational and as described for a period of 30 days from the date of delivery.
This warranty excludes user-inflicted damage including physical damage, blown output transistors due to speaker shorts or overload, or any other obvious misuse, based on our exclusive judgement.
Shipping costs for repairs will be paid by the buyer and refunded if found that the fault is not due to the buyer’s misuse.
Work performed:
- Receiver has been fully disassembled and deep-cleaned throughout.
- Tuner dial moving parts have been removed, cleaned, and relubricated using Lithium grease.
- All switches have been fully disassembled, physically cleaned, gently polished, and contact-treated using Deoxit D100.
- All potentiometers have been fully disassembled, thoroughly cleaned, and contact-treated using Deoxit F100.
Note that most so-called “service/restoration” just spray these with contact cleaner, which is a guarantee for future issues.

- Power output transistors removed and tested to be within factory specifications. Old thermal compound cleaned, old Mica insulators removed, and new high efficiency SilPad insulators installed. Contact points cleaned and treated with Deoxit D100.
- Both main filter caps replaced with genuine high quality Nichicon capacitors from reputable US sources.
- P700 power amplifier board removed and inspected. All solder joints reflowed as needed.
- All Electrolytic and Tantalum capacitors were replaced with genuine Nichicon, Panasonic, and Wima film capacitors from reputable US sources.
- All 4 original small signal transistors were replaced with genuine Fairchild or OnSemi modern equivalents.
- Both glass-bead stabistors replaced with dual modern Fairchild silicon diodes.
- Speaker protection relay replaced with a genuine Omron new equivalent relay.
- DC offset and idle current adjusted per service manual.
- P800 power supply board inspected. All solder joints reflowed as needed.
- All Electrolytic and Tantalum capacitors were replaced with genuine Nichicon, Panasonic, and Wima film capacitors from reputable US sources.
- 2 transistors, 2 double diodes and 1 standard diode replaced with modern Fairchild or OnSemi equivalents.
- 35V rail voltage adjusted per factory service manual.
- P400 phono EQ board inspected. All solder joints reflowed as needed.
- All Electrolytic and Tantalum capacitors were replaced with genuine Nichicon, Panasonic, and Wima film capacitors from reputable US sources.
- 6 transistors replaced with modern Fairchild or OnSemi equivalents.
- PE01 preamp/tone board inspected. All solder joints reflowed as needed.
- All Electrolytic and Tantalum capacitors were replaced with genuine Nichicon, Panasonic, and Wima film capacitors from reputable US sources.
- 8 transistors replaced with modern Fairchild or OnSemi equivalents.
- AM/FM tuner boards inspected. All solder joints reflowed as needed.
- FM tuner frequency range adjusted for precise dial display.
- AM/FM tuner tested and found to be working within factory specifications. FM stations tune in perfectly, stereo multiplex and muting work and sound great.
Note that no parts were replaced on the tuner boards. A full rebuild and recalibration of the tuner would require significant time and was therefore deemed unnecessary due to AM/FM obsolescence.
Performing a full rebuild of the tuner boards can be done upon request for an additional charge of $200.
- Original tuning dial and meter incandescent lamps replaced with high-quality snap-in 360° cool blue LED fuse lights.
FM Stereo and tuning needle lights were replaced with 8v 50ma 4mm high-quality modern miniature incandescent bulbs.
The visual improvement of these modern lights compared to the originals is quite remarkable!
All original parts that were removed from the receiver are not included and are shown in the photos for reference only.
We will responsibly discard of these parts at our local electronics recycling facility.
