Cavalli Audio Liquid Gold Statement Class Fully Differential Balanced Solid State Headphone Amplifier.
Unit has been tested and is fully functional. It is in very good cosmetic condition and shows no significant flaws other than a few minor paint 'dings' mainly on the left side panel near the top which have been touched up, and what seems to be two faint water marks on the right side of the front panel, near the gain selector as can be seen in the photos.
The paint doesn't seem to be damaged. We've tried to gently clean it with IPA and a drop of vinegar which made it better, but didn't completely remove them. These photos were taken using a LOT of light on our workbench, but in a darker room or in a cabinet these imperfections will be hardly visible. We assume some more rigid cleaning will get rid of them, but we will leave it to the new owner. We've opened the top cover and confirmed that there is no water damage inside.
Original MSRP in 2015 was $6450, which is equivalent to over $8,800 in today's money.
Chris Martens of The Absolute Sound concluded: "Like many of you, I keep a sort of running tally of the best audio systems I’ve heard to date—including, of course, the best headphone/amplifier combinations I’ve sampled. For now, Cavalli’s Liquid Gold, used in concert with the Abyss AB-1266 planar-magnetic headphones, not only made my short list but also earned a well-deserved place at the very top of that list."
