KAO's magnetic media division was operated by Taiyo Yuden, widely considered one of Japan's most technically advanced media manufacturers. Taiyo Yuden's manufacturing precision - the same expertise behind their legendary CD-R discs - was applied to DAT tape production, resulting in a tape known for consistent quality and reliable performance in both consumer and semi-professional applications.
