Nakamichi ZX-7 / ZX-9 Cassette Door Dust Cover

The Nakamichi ZX-7 and ZX-9 were engineered with a thermal vent opening in the cassette door cover to manage heat during operation. While essential for thermal performance, this opening allows dust and insects to enter when the deck is not in use - a long-standing problem for owners of these otherwise impeccably built machines.

Our custom-designed dust cover solves this precisely. Each cover is printed in-house on an industrial-grade SLA 3D printer using high-quality UV resin, delivering smooth surfaces, exceptional dimensional accuracy, and long-lasting durability. We offer two distinct designs to suit different preferences. If you prefer to print your own, the original design files are freely available on our Thingiverse page.

The ZX-7 and ZX-9 represent the pinnacle of Nakamichi's three-head cassette deck engineering - decks whose transport mechanisms and head alignments are simply too valuable to leave unprotected. This cover is the missing piece their design always needed.
